Nolan adds frameless glass balustrade

15 February 12

Welsh manufacturer and installer, Nolan uPVC, has added frameless glass balustrade to its range of window, door and conservatory products to create a 'one-stop-shop' for uPVC, aluminium and glazing.

Using the Taper-Loc dry glaze system, the glass balustrade is designed for residential and commercial applications. It is 50% faster to install than traditional alternatives, and the dry glaze system means no cement is needed.

Glass balustrades give an elegant finish and allow uninterrupted views, while defining spaces. They create a dramatic look, maximising light and space and can be used for staircases, landings, balconies and terraces.

The simple way to install glass railings and balustrades

The system uses a unique design that lets you apply precision pressure to lock the glass panels into the aluminium base shoe. The system uses toughened or laminated toughened glass from 12mm thick. A range of handrails can be added to finish off any glass balustrade design.

Speaking about adding the glass balustrade to the company’s growing list of products, Managing Director, Nolan Nicholas said:

“Now in our 22nd year of business it remains an important focus for the company that we continue to add new products and provide our customers with a place to come for all their uPVC, aluminium and glazing needs.

“In modern day house building and construction, architects and specifiers are always looking at new materials and ways to enhance the overall design and finish of a project. Our glass balustrade system can provide that touch of class, and for homeowners too, looking at renovating or refurbishing their homes, it can revitalise tired hallways and add space and light to otherwise dark areas.”

Alongside the frameless glass balustrade system, Nolan’s in-house design team will work with architects, specifiers and homeowners. They will carry out a site survey and help to draw up the necessary working drawings and specifications to develop the right solution for each glazing project.

“We can provide customers with a complete solution for their glazing projects. We have experts on hand to discuss the requirements of a project and to work with the customer to provide the most cost effective and appealing design.”

All balustrade and handrail systems are designed to comply with current regulations including BS6180:1999 and BS6399-1:1996.

The frameless glass balustrade is now on display at Nolan’s showrooms in Johnstown, Carmarthen and North Road, Cardiff.
