We are currently working with Nolan Commercial on a number of projects who have continued to deliver an impressive product along with a quality installation, which we feel is more important. Projects such as the re-cladding works at Maes yr Yrfa School are a credit to all involved and we hope to transfer this quality onto other projects in the future.

S4C Glass Balustrade by Nolan

Nolan Balustrade System Transforms S4C Royal Welsh Building

21 March 14

Using the TAPER-LOC System, Nolan facilitated the speedy and simple installation of a new glass balustrade system at S4C's Royal Welsh Showground Building.

A safe and secure balustrade system was required to replace the balcony’s existing timber frame system which was in poor condition with health and safety issues. The TAPER-LOC System was used to create a beautiful frameless balustrade on the balcony of the showground complex. The clean lines of balustrade solution offered a simple but effective method to safely enclose the outdoor terrace area

TAPER-LOC is the simple way to install glass railings and balustrades it is 50% faster to install than traditional alternatives and as it is a totally dry glaze system there is no need for wet cement. The product is completely unique because it uses a horizontal TAPER-LOC design, which allows the system to be adjusted, dismantled and re-set easily and efficiently. The TAPER-LOC™ System conforms to BS6180:2011 and is ideal for replacing scratched and broken panels in existing applications.

Ryan Butler, Nolan Site Supervisor commented;
“Taper-Loc is a good, strong and solid system. With the right tools it can be fitted quickly and efficiently, which is important when you are working to tight deadlines. It’s a great product for our commercial clients, and for S4C it has improved the exterior of their building at the showground tremendously. It’s a great showcase for both parties.”

Adrian Phillips, Nolan Sales Manager, commented;
“S4C have occupied a building on the Royal Welsh Showground for a number of years and it’s often a focal point during key events such as the Royal Welsh Show. Previously the building hadn’t been fully used due to the poor condition of the timber balustrade, which meant restricted access to the upper floors.”

Nolan was contracted by Garner Southall Partnership on behalf of S4C to replace the current system with the CRL Taper-Loc system to enhance the visual appearance of the existing balcony.

The S4C building at the Royal Welsh Showground is used extensively during The Royal Welsh Show for filming and to showcase S4C’s upcoming programmes. The Royal Welsh Show is an annual event showcasing the finest Welsh livestock and the high quality food and drink produced in Wales.
